Motor Fuel Group has announced its second acquisition in a week with the agreement to purchase North East-based Roadside Group.
Roadside Group operates 10 stations throughout the North East of England, with its flagship forecourt located at Newcastle Airport (pictured).
Earlier this week MFG announced plans to purchase the Bolton-based forecourt operator Synergie Holdings, which owns a network of 19 sites in the North West.
The Roadside Group transaction, which is scheduled to close in October 2016, will increase MFG’s estate to 405 sites.
Jeremy Clarke, chief operating officer at MFG said: “We are delighted to confirm this transaction within days of our Synergie deal.
“This is an important strategic acquisition for us. Until now, we have only had a couple of stations in the north-east. The addition of this high quality network will give us some real momentum in this region of the UK.
“This acquisition will bring our total number of stations to 405 and by breaking the 400 barrier, we are getting closer to our stated objective of becoming the UK’s most dynamic and profitable independent forecourt operator.”
