The Musgrave Group has acquired J&J Haslett, the Northern Ireland food wholesale and cash and carry business.
Haslett, which was established in 1854, currently supplies 200 Mace and 70 XL Stop and Shop stores and employs 360 people across Northern
Ireland. Musgrave supplies more than 700 SuperValu and Centra stores in Ireland, as well as the Budgens and Londis chains of independently-owned stores in the UK.
Martin Kelleher, currently SuperValu sales director in the Republic of Ireland, will become managing director of Haslett.
The acquisition is subject to regulatory clearance in the UK and Ireland, but is expected to complete in September.
