Steve Parfett is to take up the newly-created position of non-executive chairman at Landmark Wholesale.
Parfett is currently the group chairman but stepped down from the position of managing director at his own company AG Parfett & Sons the beginning of the year. The new role at Landmark will replace the current arrangement where a board member combines representing their company and the chairing the group, and will commence from Autumn of this year.
Parfett agreed to take up the position following an invitation by the board of directors.
The appointment was announced at the Landmark annual conference by managing director Martin Williams. He believes the move will help the group grow even further after a strong 12 months which saw sales increase compared to the previous year.
“This is an exciting new position, Steve will work with us to achieve our long-term objectives and maintain our excellent pattern of growth and recruitment over the next few years,” said Williams. “This year has been an excellent year, we’ve recruited six new members and have ended the financial year with sales a creditable 11.5% ahead of 2009/2010. Steve’s wealth of knowledge and experience will support us as we continue to move from strength-to-strength over the years ahead.”
