Tesco is continuing its march into the convenience sector by appealing for new stores with space of 3,500-5,000sq ft through a press advert.
The advert invites businesses with suitable sites to make contact and says: 'Our new format Express is totally flexible and we are now looking for space between 3,500 and 5,000sq ft.' It says fees are available for non-retained agents and that a minimum fee of £10,000 would be paid for successful new introductions.
A spokesman for Tesco told Convenience Store that the advert did not refer to any new format or direction for Tesco Express or Tesco.
