Nisa directors Neil Turton and Raj Krishan and HIM md Tom Fender are planning to cycle 400km in five days in south east Asia next February in order to raise funds for humanitarian organisation MAG International.
The trio will travel through Laos on their cycling challenge, which will take them past the borders with China, Thailand and Vietnam to the historic royal city of Luang Prabang via the rural Hmong and Khmu communities, the scenic Mekong River and the forests of Kamu.
Laos is the most bombed country in the world per capita and its government has shown that unexploded ordnance (UXO) contamination still affects more than 25% of its villages. Between 1999 and 2008 there have been 2,184 casualties and 834 deaths as a result of UXOs. MAG International works to clear the remnants of conflict, enabling recovery and assisting the development of affected people.
Turton, Krishan and Fender have set a fundraising target of £10,000. If you would like to support them, you can visit the Just Giving page at www.justgiving.com/raj-krishan to make a donation.
