One Stop has officially opened its 100th franchise store following a full refit.
Owned by Vip and Jo Measuria, the 1,800sq ft store is based in the Borrowash area of Derby. The Prior Way store features PayPoint, Lottery, a free to use ATM and Collect Plus services, in addition to the usual selection of chilled, frozen and ambient ranges, off-licence, and One Stop’s meal deals.
Since it launched its pilot franchise store in March 2013, One Stop has invested £5m in the independent sector.
To celebrate its re-opening, the store held a launch party on Saturday 22 August, under the theme of “100 stores and counting”.
Attractions included a bouncy castle, face painters, a football game, goody bags for the first 100 customers, half price chip shop deals, £2 toy bags for children, charity football scratch cards and a major raffle with prizes such as a Derby County signed shirt, football and match tickets, theme park tickets and more.
With 2,000 leaflets distributed in the surrounding area, Vip and Jo saw a bumper turnout on the day, with the store officially opened at 11am by the Mayor of the City of Derby, councillor Paul Pegg and joined by Derby County’s official mascot Rammie.
All money raised on the day will be donated to the Derby County Community Trust, which is committed to engaging and inspiring young people in the community to achieve their potential.
Store owner Vip said: “We’re really excited to have the distinction of being One Stop Franchise’s 100th store. We’ve been trading with One Stop since late June, so our sales have already increased thanks to the new ranges and deals being phased in.
“Now that we’ve undergone the full refit, we can really drive things forward. Our customers will be delighted with the improvements to our alcohol, chilled and fresh ranges in particular.”
Andrew King, One Stop franchise director, said: “Our momentum is really building, with huge interest from symbol retailers in particular. They can see the passion we have for retailing and how we’re delivering tangible results for our franchisees.”
