North of England wholesaler Parfetts staff have earned a 3% bonus each after the wholesaler pumped up performance in its fourth quarter.
Like-for-like sales, including tobacco, rose 10.5% –- 18% with tobacco stripped out – at the operator of six cash and carry depots in Merseyside, Derbyshire and Yorkshire.
The latest 12-week period takes total business sales 5.5% higher for the whole year – 8.5% excluding tobacco and bulk purchases.
Greg Suszcenia, joint managing director, of the employee-owned business, said: “This strong performance has enabled us to award staff tax-free bonuses of three percent in recognition of their efforts and contributions.
“The bonus is in addition to the general staff profit share bonus, so a real testament to the efforts of everyone.”
He added that Parfetts needed to maintain its high standards because of “major industry developments expected over the next 12 months”.
