Parfetts is to refurbish its wholesale estate as it seeks to recruit more Go Local symbol retailers.
Its 105,000sq ft flagship Aintree depot, which was refitted in March, will provide the blueprint for the other five depots, based in Stockport, Somercotes, Halifax and Sheffield and Anfield.
Work has completed on the Anfield depot, which has already shown sales growth of more than 10%.
The Aintree depot has a new exterior façade and roof and enhanced interior facilities including a modern reception area, meeting rooms and all the latest display options. To support its Go Local facia programme, a mock-up of a typical store exterior has been built showing retailers how “professional” their stores would look if they adopted the fascia.
The drive to recruit more Go Local symbol retailers will continue across all six depots, with two Business Development Executives on hand in each depot to explain the benefits to prospective retailers.
Parfetts said more than 100 enquiries were currently being processed from retailers looking to join the scheme.
Trading director Greg Suszczenia said: “This project began with depot branding partnerships but the wider refurbishment success at Aintree has made us reassess the whole group as it fits perfectly with our strategy for the branches to be seen as more than cash and carries but as retail hubs with a far greater range of services for the independent retailers.”
