PayPoint has announced the official launch of its new PayPoint One platform, offering retailers its traditional terminal services along with an integrated Epos system and payment capability all in one.
The first major tech innovation from PayPoint since the launch of the second generation terminal launched in 2004, the multifunctional PayPoint One is designed to be simple to use and offer improved efficiency to independent retailers.
The tablet-based Android device features an 11.6-inch touchscreen, advanced applications, web browser and flexible connectivity through Bluetooth, Wifi and broadband. It also gives retailers the ability to manage their business anywhere from any device with its cloud back office. Its fundamental aims are to enable faster and more reliable payments, helping to improve customer experience and reduce queue times for its network of 29,000 retail partners.
The device has been in commercial trails since April 2016 and is now rolling out to independent retailers with 2,000 orders recorded so far, including 500 new customers and 1500 existing customers.
There is no upfront cost to retailers installing PayPoint One, with a weekly installment plan set up instead. This is priced at £20 per week over two years for new customers, £15 per week for upgrades to Epos core for existing customers and £10 per week for upgrades to till app for existing customers.
Dominic Taylor, CEO at PayPoint said: “This is an exciting milestone in PayPoint’s history. The new platform, which has been designed to be future proofed for evolving retailer and consumer needs, is a significant enhancement to our service offering. Our new platform allows complete flexibility and control for retailers, enabling them to run their whole business from it.
“We’ve thoroughly tested the new technology, working alongside retailers throughout its development, to ensure that our full service offering meets their current and future needs and that the platform can flex as their businesses grow.”
