Payzone has boosted its network with the acquisition of Cardpoint's Electronic Mobile Phone Top Up business.
Former Cardpoint ETU customers will be re-branded and have the option of offering Payzone's full range of services.
Payzone is paying an initial £700,000 and further deferred £700,000 to Cardpoint for the ETU arm of its business. The acquisition will see Payzone's network extend to more than 28,000 retail outlets.
Paul Charmatz, deputy managing director of Alphyra, which owns Payzone, said: "Our network is expanding rapidly and is now the largest in the convenience sector. This acquisition significantly enhances our market position and our ability to provide a more convenient service while offering the best commission rates available to retailers."
