The Professional Publishers Association (PPA) has launched a free information pack for independent retailers to help optimise magazine sales.
The pack, Making More Money from Magazines, provides advice and support on successfully managing the magazine category in-store and best-practice display planograms.
The pack is part of a programme of initiatives from the PPA’s Retail Marketing Group (RMG) to support independent retailers in selling magazines.
Chairman of the RMG Independent Group Paul Sadler said that this was the first time the entire industry had worked together to help retailers benefit from the category. “Until now, independent retailers have received advice and support from distributors and wholesalers but this is the first time the industry has collaborated to create a comprehensive guide on selling and making more money from magazines.”
PPA head of circulation Kate McElroy said: “The PPA recognises how important independent retailers are to the sales of magazines and the RMG Independent Group was set up to improve service and drive sales for the sector. The Making More Money from Magazines pack represents a fantastic collaborative initiative and is one of a number that the group has achieved since it was set up 18 months ago.”
The packs are available at www.ppa.co.uk/retail.
