Retailers, along with growers, processors and packers, are being urged to help the Potato Council in its bid to drive wider awareness of the natural benefits of potatoes with a new marketing campaign, 'Love Potatoes'.
At a time when living costs are rising and health remains high on the agenda, the campaign's message is clear: being full of nutrients, extremely versatile and superb value for money, potatoes are the perfect choice for consumers.
Potato Council marketing director Kathryn Race says: "This campaign aims
to reconnect families with potatoes by demonstrating their nutritional benefits over rice and pasta, as well as their convenience and - at a time when budgets are being stretched due to sharp increases in food prices - the cost-effectiveness of this great British staple."
PR activity encompasses national, regional press and broadcast media, as well as consumer press. Celebrity Nell McAndrew is also endorsing the 'Love Potatoes' campaign.
