Burton’s Biscuit Company is set to introduce new Big & Chunky lines under its £50m Maryland cookie brand.
Available from January, the new Big & Chunky cookie range will include two variants – Milk & Dark and White Choc & Caramel (RRP £1.49 / 180g) – with Big & Chunky Milk & Dark also available as a £1.39 PMP.
Mandy Bobrowski, UK & Ireland marketing director at Burton’s Biscuit Company, said: “Maryland is the number one branded cookie in the UK, growing at 9.5% year-on-year, making it a must stock brand for the convenience channel.
“With our new Big & Chunky lines, we’re bringing our best loved cookie recipes into a bigger and chunkier format that’s perfect for a slightly more indulgent treat. We’re also tapping into the impulsive nature of biscuit shoppers, with a PMP format that will enable retailers to drive sales from impulse purchases.”
The launch of the new Big & Chunky range follows a successful year for Maryland, which saw sales driven by Maryland core – growing at 6.2% and now valued at £27.5m – and Maryland Mini’s, which saw 12.2% growth (Nielsen Scantrack 07.10.17).
