Cadbury’s Christmas 2015 advert is to hits TV screens tomorrow.
The advert shows an aerial view of a giant Cadbury advent calendar formed of 24 purple trucks, each one representing a different door.
A series of action shots will show the giant Cadbury Advent Calendar being loaded with festive treats, such as a huge Christmas cracker, as the trucks get ready to depart from Bournville, the home of Cadbury. The trucks pass through quintessential British locations while onlookers’ wave and smile at the drivers within.
The ad also features glimpses of Santa, snowy footprints and Christmas trees.
Claire Low, marketing manager at Mondelèz International, said: “Through this advert, we wanted to capture the huge anticipation felt by consumers during the Christmas Countdown. Cadbury has a well-loved place in family homes during the festive period, and has been bringing joy to the countdown with its advent calendars for over 50 years. Inspired by this, we have created the ultimate advent calendar to deliver joy in a way that only Cadbury can this Christmas.”
Viewers will have the chance to see the fleet of trucks in the real world as they arrive at different locations every day as the calendar counts down to Christmas. Three 20 second spots will capture visitors’ reactions as the trucks arrive at their destinations. At each destination, the trucks will open their doors to deliver surprises across the UK and Ireland throughout December. These will be available to view on TV, VOD and online platforms from 5 December.
The £10m investment is set to mark the confectionery brand’s intention to sit as one of the top Christmas adverts, during one of the most competitive times of year. The integrated campaign will also feature social media, PR, digital, radio, experiential and in-store activity.
