As the cold and flu season sets the nation spluttering, Reckitt Benckiser is pumping more than £20m-worth of marketing investment into its key cold and germ protection brands.
Brands such as Dettol, Nurofen, Strepsils and Lemsip will have full TV, radio and online support, making this one of the largest seasonal support campaigns ever undertaken by the company.
According to Reckitt Benckiser, 75% of cold and flu sales are made between September and March, and sales of seasonal brands such as Strepsils and Lemsip can more than double during this time.
Strepsils Handy Tubes, the new product designed specifically for the independent sector, will be injected with a £4m investment including a new TV advert. Honey & Lemon Strepsils Handy Tubes have an rrp of £1.49 for 10 lozenges.
