Fairy teamed up with Make-A-Wish UK to support the charity’s annual fundraising ‘Bake-A-Wish‘ event at the weekend.
Passionate bakers from around the country entered the competition by submitting their recipes for their favourite festive bakes. The winning cake was recreated to feed 12,000 people at Westfield, Shepherd’s Bush, over the weekend from November 20.
Shoppers were encouraged to contribute £1 for a piece of the cake while Fairy matched every plate washed, with a £10 donation.
All the plates used were washed with just one 780ml bottle of Fairy liquid.
Fairy UK brand manager Emily Williams said: “We’ve been working with Make-A-Wish UK for 12 years now. The aim of the event in Westfield is to not only raise funds for Make-A-Wish UK but demonstrate the power of the bake sale and encourage people up and down the country to host their own Bake-A-Wish event. We’re looking forward to providing a lot of cake for hungry shoppers and, of course, we’re going to clean up all the mess with just one 780ml bottle of Fairy.”
