FrieslandCampina, the Dutch dairy giant behind Yazoo, is offering convenience retailers an on-the-go cold coffee option to stock as part of its growing drinks portfolio.
Launching on International Coffee Day (1 October), Barista Coffee Co is set to tap into growing demand for ready to drink beverages. Available in two flavours: Caffe Latte; and Caramel Latte, the new drinks come in 250ml cans with an rrp of £1 each.
FrieslandCampina has plans to release more flavours before the end of the year and is hoping to appeal to shoppers looking for an affordable cold coffee that also delivers on taste.
Wayne Thompson, business unit controller for out of home at Friesland Campina, said, “Year on year, ready to drink coffee added more absolute value to the drinks category than any other segment [IRI Infoscan, Kantar Worldpanel, 52 w.e 14/7/19], so it makes absolute sense that we’d move into this space.
