Fruittella is responding to demand for vegan sweets with the introduction of its first ever gelatine-free range.
The two new fruity jelly variants: Fruittella Koalas (lemon, pineapple and raspberry flavours); and Fruittella Sour Snakes (tropical, lemon, apple and raspberry flavours), are suitable for both vegans and vegetarians.
Each bag of the jungle-themed jellies sports an approved stamp from the Vegan Society and are made with natural colours and flavours.
Available in a 120g plain pack (rrp £1.29) and 100g £1 PMP, the gelatine-free range is suitable for those with a gluten intolerance and is made with real fruit juice.
Diego Pol, Fruittella brand manager at Perfetti Van Melle, said: “We know that there is a huge demand for vegan sweets, but often the taste and texture suffers when gelatine is removed. We’ve worked to make sure our new Fruittella jellies have the same great taste that people expect of any Fruittella product. The feedback from consumers has been second to none, with the taste and texture in the top 5% of all products we’ve ever tested.”
The NPD will be supported by a new TV advert, video on demand content and social media activity later this year.
