Imperial Tobacco is hoping to give cash-strapped adult smokers a viable alternative to cheap illicit tobacco with several new products.

Each 14g pack of JPS Tobacco To Make Cigarettes will allow smokers to create 20 king-size cigarettes for £3.80 almost half the price of a standard 20-pack. Smokers will need to make a one-off purchase of the new £3.09 cigarette maker, and 99p tubes.

Smokers can also buy a kit, rrp £6.99, which comprises a 14g pack of JPS tobacco, 100 king-size filter tubes, and the cigarette maker. The products will be available for retailers to buy from September.

Also new is JPS Handrolling Tobacco, available now in plain and pricemarked 12.5g and 25g bags for £3.27 and £6.40 respectively. Both offer margins of more than 12%.
