Dr. Oetker is aiming to boost the cake mixes sector with a new Bake in the Box cake range.
Available now, the new cake mixes (175-200g rrp £2.50) are available in: Double Chocolate, Lemon & Poppy Seed, and Banana & Choc Chip.
Simple enough for even the most amateur bakers to make, Bake in the Box overcomes the barriers that a lot of consumers face when it comes to home baking, such as lack of time, skill, equipment, ingredients and confidence.
With no mess or washing up, and no equipment required other than a tablespoon and a fork, the product is ideal for aspiring bakers with limited equipment or baking ingredients.
Simply add milk, mix then bake in the box, for 30 minutes. Once cool, simply fold down the sides of the box to release the cake.
Jan McKee, executive head of marketing at Dr. Oetker UK, said: “The Sweet Cake Mixes category is worth £35m (IRI 52 w/e Total market 22 July 2017) and we’re excited to launch our new Bake In The Box range into the category. Bake in the Box will bring new consumers into the Cake Mixes category who currently feel like they don’t have the time, equipment or ingredients to bake. It’s extremely convenient and easy to make, and it tastes just like a freshly baked, homemade loaf.
