Blakemore Wholesale Distribution has chosen Raj Krishan as its new sales director.
Krishan began his career with parent company AF Blakemore in 1988 and since leaving in 2004 has worked at a number of leading wholesale and retail enterprises including Landmark Wholesale, The Today’s Group and Nisa. Most recently, he was format & development director at My Local.
Blakemore Wholesale Distribution is based at the 84,000sq ft Apex II warehouse in Great Bridge, West Midlands, and services a diverse range of customers across the UK, including multiple and independent retailers, forecourts, vending operators, fellow wholesalers plus education, leisure and hospitality sites, as well as a recently-launched export division. Customers include BP, Roadchef, Staples and Primark.
Krishan will begin his new role on 18 July, following Tony Bromwich’s decision to leave the business in the summer.
Managing director James Russell said: “Raj will be a great asset to our business and has the breadth of industry knowledge and experience required to help us meet our ambitious plans for the future.”
Krishan added: “In many ways I grew up with AF Blakemore and have always held an affection for the business, as I have watched it grow over the past decade or so from afar. While this move is certainly a good fit for me culturally, it is also a great opportunity for me to work with a super team and develop this new and exciting part of the Blakemore business.
“I now want to bring my experience back to AF Blakemore by building stronger partnerships with our existing customer base and by expanding the reach of the business across the variety of channels that we serve and deliver great value.”
