Retailers are being warned to watch out for a new JTI voucher scam which is currently circulating.
The fake vouchers claim to offer shoppers £3 off the price of Benson and Hedges products.
JTI is advising all retailers to refuse any vouchers that they are offered and immediately report the incident to the Citizens Advice Consumer Helpline.
It is also urging retailers to keep hold of any CCTV footage of shoppers attempting to use the vouchers to help any investigations that may be pursued.
Retailers can contact the Citizens Advice Consumer Helpline on 03454 04 05 06.
This scam is the latest in a recent line of fake voucher cons to hit JTI and Imperial Tobacco.
It comes just days after the recent Budget which saw tobacco duties continue to rise by 2% above inflation. The move added 16p to the price of a pack of 20 cigarettes.
