West Midlands retailer Harj Gill, of the Windmill (Select and Save) store in Rubery, introduced his own loyalty card scheme last Saturday.
Under the Lyoness scheme, shoppers receive up to 5% cashback which is paid into their card accounts monthly, as well as points which can be exchanged for vouchers. Retailers need to recommend each other in order to sign up to the scheme.
Harj celebrated the launch with raffles, food and wine tasting, when about 150 people signed up for the loyalty card. He then set up the terminal on Monday.
“I’m confident it will boost footfall and basket spend,” Harj said. “Quite a few retailers are doing it now. I think it’s the way forward.”
Lyoness is a global cashback loyalty card operator.
