Spar UK is to revamp its own-label range in response to changes in consumer habits which have sent sales of economy own-brand products soaring.
The store chain says its Spar brand has grown at twice the rate of group sales over the past 18 months, and plans to capitalise on this by rebranding the current Value range as Extra Value, and introducing new “simple and honest” red-and-white packaging.
The pricemarked range is available this month, with additional products added in March. It will be supported by pos material stressing price and savings.
Spar brand marketing controller Vicky Shepherd said: “We hope to create better awareness of the Spar brand through this new design.”
