Spar has announced a series of big brand ‘half price or better’ offers will land in c-stores in the new year.
The big brand sale starts on January 2 and will run for six weeks, with special offers extending across categories including products in licensed, fresh and frozen, grocery and non-food.
The offer will coincide with a January media campaign on television and social media, focusing on Spar’s own brand products including BBQ ribs, pulled pork and Argentinian Rios de los Andes Malbec.
Spar UK head of marketing Philippe Rondepierre said: “Footfall can often be lower in January throughout the grocery market, so Spar retailers need to stand out to grab their share of the business. Our half price offers can help do this, as they have the potential to achieve significant sales in stores.
“Shoppers are increasingly looking for straight forward value and research tells us that ‘Half Price’ is their favourite mechanic. We want to give them what they look for, at the time of the year when they need it the most.”
