The National Federation of Retail Newsagents (NFRN) has introduced a new icon for stores that deliver newspapers, which it hopes will become a familiar sight on the high street.
The window stickers are intended to show passers-by that home news delivery (HND) is available. NFRN national news development manager Brian Murphy said: "Like the green cross used for pharmacies, we envisage that this logo will become instantly recognisable. We encourage all HND newsagents to position these window stickers prominently."
News International sales and circulation director David Biggs added: "A home delivery service is a major selling point for the independent retailer, and the logo will help retailers to promote this service to their customers."
Stickers are available to NFRN members on 0845 601 5818.
