National Lottery retailers are being provided with a host of new point of sale material ahead of the launch of the new, pricier, EuroMillions game on Tuesday 27 September.
The cost per line will rise from £2.00 to £2.50 and the number of Lucky Stars from which players can choose will expand from 11 to 12.
National Lottery operator Camelot is promising “bigger jackpots more often and more UK millionaires” as a result of the changes.
A new ‘Mega Week’ will also feature each month, replacing the normal monthly Mega Friday draws.
The initial Mega Week will include two special draws – the first taking place on 27 September, which will make a guaranteed 10 UK millionaires, each also winning a 100-day-around-the-world trip.
A one-off EuroMillions jackpot draw of £100m will follow on Friday 30 September.
Retailers are currently receiving new promotional packs which include updated Playstation graphics, posters, banners, tent cards and bunting.
The National Lottery’s 47,000-strong network of retailers will also be able to take part in two store draws offering them the chance to win one of three millionaire experience prizes worth around £10,000.
Retailers can enter from now until 9pm on 30 September, by logging onto the competition website at http://www.winbigtogether.co.uk/
They’ll need to register their details – including their retailer number – before answering three multiple choice questions about the new EuroMillions game.
James Pearson, head of retail channel at Camelot, said: “It’s an exciting time for our players with the launch of new EuroMillions, and this means there’s a great opportunity for our retailers to get behind the bigger and better game.
“There’s lots to look forward to, with even bigger draws, more massive jackpots and the refreshed game will double the number of millionaires made.
“So, I’m delighted that we’ve created an impactful campaign with exclusive competitions for our retailers. Their support in driving sales is vital in making sure we can continue to deliver for National Lottery Good Causes across the UK.”
Tickets for the new EuroMillions game will go on sale on Saturday 24 September.
The first EuroMillions draw took place on 13 February 2004 – to date, the game has created more than 1,250 millionaires in the UK.
