Tesco has extended its ‘Scan as you Shop’ service to a further 20 stores across the UK as it seeks to speed up service.
The roll out of Scan as You Shop in more stores will mean that it is now available in nearly 350 stores UK-wide.
The service allows customers to scan products as they navigate Tesco stores, and also keep a tally of how much they’re spending.
The trial will see Scan as You Shop available at self-service checkouts as well as manned checkouts, saving customers time while at the checkout.
“We want to make it as easy as possible for customers to shop with us,” a Tesco spokesperson said.
“Scan as You Shop is already used by over 600,000 customers every week, and not only saves time at the checkout, it enables customers to track their spend as they go too.
“This new trial will mean more customers than ever before can benefit from the service and check out in a matter of seconds.”
The big four retailer will drive awareness of the scheme with a brand new TV advert.
