The Co-operative Group is set to unveil its first three former David Sands stores following an investment of around £750,000.
The new-look stores, at Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy and Markinch, will all be unveiled as Co-operative Food outlets next Thursday (28 June).
The Co-operative Group acquired the David Sands chain earlier this year. The remaining 25 stores will be converted to Co-operative outlets in Fife, Kinross and Perthshire in due course.
Sean Toal, chief operating officer and acting chief executive, The Co-operative Food, said: “The David Sands stores are great additions to The Co-operative Food. They complement our existing estate, and reinforce our position as the fourth biggest food retailer in Scotland.
“We will build upon David Sands’ strong tradition of serving their local communities, and we’re looking forward to welcoming customers into these new-look stores.”
The Co-operative Food currently has 370 food stores in Scotland, serviced from a distribution centre which opened in Newhouse, near Glasgow, in 2011.
