Ramesh and Nim Shingadia's store in Southwater, West Sussex, has been named Londis Store of the Year 2009 at the group's conference in Birmingham.
Awarding the £10,000 prize, the judges said: "You could not meet two people more passionate about the business and about Londis. The store is outstanding."
Other winners included: Dee Sedani of Londis Etwall, Derbyshire, for best small store; Tim Davies of Londis Felinfach, Powys, best forecourt store; Barrie and Elizabeth Seymour of Londis Liversedge, West Yorkshire, 'best in beers, wines and spirits'; Raj Chandegra of Londis Barnes, London, 'best in in-store bakery'; and Atul Karavadra of Londis Northampton, 'best in on-the-go'.
