Booker’s new supply partnership with Shell is working well, both companies have confirmed.
Speaking at the Make the Future Live Festival in London last week, Shell UK retail general manager Bernadette Williamson confirmed the value of the partnership, which was sealed with a three-year supply deal signed last December, and includes 28 sites where the shop trades under the Budgens brand.
She said: “Working with partners, we can have regular range reviews and bring their insight into the mix and buy local ranges where there is an opportunity.”
Half of Shell’s UK forecourt transactions now include food, with one in three containing no fuel at all.
Booker retail managing director Steve Fox added: “The consumer expectations of a forecourt store are definitely rising.”
