Central England Co-op opened 10 new stores across the UK in 2018 as part of a £13.5m investment programme.
The society also relaunched 30 convenience stores this year, with major developments in Derbyshire receiving over £4m and Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Nottingham and the West Midlands receiving over £1m each.
The work was part of a new development programme, which saw new fixtures and fittings including new energy efficient refrigeration technologies to minimise environmental impact and LED lighting, with further investment planned during 2019.
Store manager Peter Sayers said: “All of us here at Central England Co-operative Food Stores across our trading area are proud to be part of such great communities and are looking forward to welcoming all customers, old and new, to come and enjoy our new and revamped Food Stores.”
