Dougalls Nisa Local, a family-owned business with stores in Birmingham and Coventry, has donated £3,500 to four local community causes through Nisa’s Making a Difference Locally (MADL) charity.
The four causes receiving donations are the Prince of Wales Nursing Home (£500), Gosford Primary School (£1,000), Zoe’s Place (£1,000) and Turves Green Primary School (£1,000).
The donations were chosen by Lee Montague, manager of the Turves Green Nisa Local store in Birmingham. Lee is passionate about supporting local charities and was delighted to be able to make a difference to these four deserving organisations to celebrate Christmas.
Lee said: “I’m so pleased that we’ve been able to donate £3,500 to these four local good causes. They all do such important work in our community, and I’m proud that we can help them to continue their work.”
The donations will be used to support a variety of Christmas activities and projects at the four charities.
Since joining Nisa, Dougalls have so far donated almost £10,000 to local community causes through Nisa’s MADL charity.
Kate Carroll head of charity at Nisa said: “We’re incredibly proud of our Making a Difference Locally charity and retailers like Dougalls who are so passionate about their community. It’s a great way for us to support the communities in which we operate and make a real difference to the lives of people who really need the support on the run up to Christmas.”
Lara Taylerson-Whyte from Zoe’s Place, a hospice which cares for babies and young children with life-limiting, life-threatening or complex conditions, commented on the donation: “It was such a generous donation and the continued support of the hospice is appreciated. It will help fund activities such as music and animal therapies for young children.”
