A Nisa store in rural Essex has enjoyed a 30% increase in chilled sales since it was refitted at the end of last year.
The 1,500sq ft store in Newport, Essex, was refitted with raised ceilings, modern lighting and cladding, new chillers and wood effect flooring.
Store owner Alan Carr, whose family has owned the store since the 1950s, said he was “blown away” by the result, which has led to an increase in year-on-year sales of 16%.
“The original store was quite dark because the ceilings were low and as you walked to the rear of the shop it was a bit of a cave. I asked Nisa to have a look at what they could do for me and between the Store Development Manager and the shop fitters Jordons, they have created an amazing finish,” he said.
“I’ve had re-fits before but this time I went the whole hog. I took the whole range, I took on board all the advice Nisa gave me and left it to them and Jordons. I was blown away by the result. I can’t praise them enough.”
In addition to chilled sales, National Lottery and Paypoint are up 20% and year on year.
