Camelot, official operator of The National Lottery, is urging retailers to make the most of a bumper weekend of lottery jackpots.
Tonight’s EuroMillions jackpot is estimated to be worth £133m and an £18m Lotto jackpot is also taking place on Saturday (February 17).
The EuroMillions draw is being supported with a large push in TV advertising and branded posters for thousands of National Lottery retailers. The new POS will arrive in stores today and some retailers could see an 85% increase in sales, when compared to a normal base draw.
Camelot’s retail development manager Sally Fisherm said: “Friday’s gigantic EuroMillions jackpot would create the third biggest single jackpot winner in the UK. We know that huge jackpots tend to attract new and infrequent players to the game, so it’s important to make the most of this sales-driving opportunity. That’s good news for players, and great news for retailers who’ll be sure to see a spike in sales. There are a few things that retailers can do to make sure they’re making the most of it.”
In addition to the £133m EuroMillions jackpot, Camelot is also encourgaing retailers to advertsie its European Millionaire Maker event. The Millionaire Maker draw will see 25 €1m raffle prizes won by shoppers on February 23.
