Cheshire Police are urging witnesses to come forward after a store worker was injured during an armed robbery at a McColl’s store in Crewe.
The incident happened at the convenience store on Gainsborough Road in Crewe at around 10:20pm on 2 April.
According to police, one man entered the store brandishing a knife and ordered the female store worker to open the till and hand over cash and cigarettes, before jumping on the counter. Another man waited outside.
The store worker attempted to stop the offender and sustained a minor wound to her right hand.
The man who entered the store is described as white, around 6’ tall with a slim build and estimated to be in his early 30s, while the second offender was around 5’ 1” tall with a medium build and was wearing a shiny black Puffa-style jacket with the hood up and dark bottoms.
Detective sergeant Steven Smith said: “This was a terrifying ordeal for all those involved and we are committed to doing all that we can to trace the men responsible. Thankfully the store worker only sustained a minor injury. However, the outcome could have been far worse.
“The investigation is currently in the very early stages and we are following a number of lines of enquiry. I want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the robbery and believes they may have witnessed something that may be relevant to our investigation.”
