Manchester-based retailer Mital Morar has closed his Kampus General Store site.
Located in the heart of Manchester, Kampus opened in November 2023 and followed the style of the other sites in the General Store estate.
Announcing the closure on social media, Mital said: “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of our Kampus location after a short period. Today is our last day. We are immensely grateful for the support from our loyal customers, suppliers, and landlords who have stood by us.
“We’ve learnt a lot and enjoyed hosting events on our First Floor. From a panel talk with an audience to Love From Alcohol Free pop up right through to the wonder Quiz every Wednesday and the monthly Overdrawn Art Events. Thank you to everyone who’s given us a chance.
“As a local, independent, family-run business, we remain committed to serving our community and are excited to continue welcoming you at our other locations in Ancoats and Deansgate Square. Despite this setback, our dedication to providing the best products and services remains strong.”
Mital also thanked the staff who worked at the site. “Warm thanks to our colleagues who have shone on behalf of the store and welcomed everyone who came in. It is sad we are at this point now.”
In February 2024, Mital closed the Stretford Food Hall site citing the impact of Covid-19, the cost of living crisis and rising energy prices as contributing factors. The General Store Group still runs sites at Ancoats and Deansgate Square.
