Diversity and inclusion within the grocery industry will be the focus of a new conference on March 7 at Wembley Stadium.
The inaugural Diversity in Grocery conference is the outcome of a partnership between Tesco, P&G, Accenture, Coca-Cola European Partners and Mondelez. All proceeds from the event will go to GroceryAid, the industry charity.
Representatives from the industry partners will combine their insights and learnings “to facilitate thought sharing and provide the opportunity for learning and development in a supportive environment”.
Baroness Karren Brady of Knightsbridge CBE, one of the UK’s most high-profile business women, will share her own learnings on harnessing diversity to drive success.
Alessandra Bellini, chief customer officer at Tesco, will introduce the day and share her own perspective on the importance of an inclusive working environment. She will then be joined by speakers from the five founding partners.
She said: “Diversity and Inclusion is everyone’s business we are delighted to be joining together as an industry to drive change.
“Creating a culture where everyone’s welcome is central to any organisation and we want to encourage everyone to be themselves, whoever you are, wherever you work, and whatever you do, so you can reach your full potential.”.
