After its annual conference in Barcelona, Confex is celebrating as another three new members join the group to strengthen its buying power and geographical reach.
Tom Gittins, Confex CEO, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Ahmed Foods, A.C. Georgiades and Regency Service and Solutions to the group – their combined turnover adds an impressive £56.2m to our turnover, which further bolsters our strength and buying power as a group.
“In addition, these three new members add more diversity to the group, which we all benefit from. By combining our insight, knowledge and expertise, it’s no wonder Confex is outperforming other buying groups in the sector.”
A.C. Georgiades (managing director, Chris Georgiades, above right) are a national soft drink wholesaler and distributor located in Morpeth, Northumberland and Stevenage. Regency Services and Solutions, based in Manchester, has joined the group in order to achieve its strategic objectives.
Finally, Bradford-based Ahmed Foods (director Tanweer Ahmed, above left) supply the hospitality and restaurant trade in the north of England with chilled, frozen, ambient and fresh produce.
