Payzone has teamed up with Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) to provide easy access to newly modernised ZoneCard tickets for public transport across the Strathclyde region in Scotland.

With the introduction of smartcard ticketing for ZoneCard, customers can purchase tickets at any participating Payzone outlet using cash or other payment methods, to then be loaded onto their smartcard.

This partnership aims to benefit retailers and customers by increasing foot traffic into stores, supporting cash-paying customers, and providing a simple and convenient alternative to SPT’s online tools and apps.

ZoneCard ticket enable seamless travel across various transportation modes within the region, including buses, rail and subway, promoting greater mobility and flexibility for daily commuters, students, and tourists.

Payzone said the partnership reflects its ongoing commitment to community convenience and technological innovation.

Commenting on the partnership, Simon Lambert commercial and operations director at Payzone said: ”This initiative not only enhances the accessibility of public transport in the Strathclyde area but also supports our commitment to providing innovative solutions for our customers. By allowing ticket purchases via cash at our stores, we’re ensuring that all members of the community can benefit from public transport, regardless of their preferred payment method.”
