One lucky National Lottery retailer has won £20,000, through Camelot’s EuroMillions retailer incentive.
Seelan Poopalasingam, owner of Oldfield Lane Newsagents in Greenford in London, was delighted to win the top prize in a scheme which has helped promote the new EuroMillions HotPicks game.
Seelan said he was planning to use some of the money to take his wife and two children on holiday in Sri Lanka, and the rest to reduce his mortgage.
The incentive, which ran from November 2017, encouraged National Lottery retailers to find out more about EuroMillions HotPicks. Store owners were able to enter the draw online for a chance to win a range of cash prizes.
Two retailers from Cardiff and Bognor Regis also won £5,000 each, while 20 retailers walked away with £1,000. In total, £50,000 in HotPicks incentive prizes was won by retailers across the UK.
Camelot’s retail sales executive Brett Langford added: “To say that Seelan was overjoyed would be an understatement! It was great to visit him at his shop and hear more about what he’s planning to spend the cash on. Well done to Seelan and all of our other National Lottery retail partners who took part.”
As well as introducing the EuroMillions HotPicks game, Camelot has also added a Tuesday Thunderball draw alongside the existing draws held on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
