A retailer has used the winnings from a Walkers and Bestway competition to improve his store’s safety.
Abdul Shakoor, of Clifton Convenience store in Bristol, won £4,000 in a recent competition run by Walkers and Bestway and has used the money to upgrade his CCTV system to improve store safety and upgrade his chillers.
Abdul Shakoor said: “I am delighted to have won the competition during a challenging time for the industry, and I thank Walkers and Bestway for continuing to support retailers. So far, I have updated the CCTV system within the shop to a suite of four WiFi-enabled cameras, to keep my store and my customers safe.
“As well as improving store safety, I have also invested in a new dairy fridge for milk, butter, and cream. With the Post Office strikes likely to affect many consumers this Christmas, I have brought [additional] stamps and other postal stock to ensure my customers can make Christmas special for their loved ones.”
Mike Chapman, head of wholesale at PepsiCo, said: “Convenience retailers are at the heart of their communities, and PepsiCo is proud to be able to recognise and strengthen the impact they have on their local area.
“We are thrilled to have supported Mr Shakoor to bolster the safety of his store, as well as add new products and equipment to key fixtures.”
