Juice giant Tropicana has introduced its first smoothie product, aiming to encourage children to consume their recommended five-a-day.
Tropicana Kids will include two flavours, Pineapple & Mango and Strawberry & Banana. Both variants have an RRP of £3.60 for 4 x 150ml packs.
The new kids offering is made with 100% real fruit with Vitamin C and each 150ml serving counts as one child’s five-a-day.
According to Kantar, only one-in-ten children are currently getting one of their five-a-day. In response to this, Tropicana said that stocking the new children’s smoothie will provide a convenient way for parents and guardians to help children consume their daily recommended intake of fruit and vegetables.
Liz Ashdown marketing director UK&I at Tropicana Brands Group said: “Tropicana is the UK’s Number one juice brand and combines over 75 years of fruit expertise. Launching a new kids smoothie as part of our expanding range is an exciting step for Tropicana, allowing us to cater to new shopper trends and offer a convenient and healthy solution for families.
“Shopping for your family can be a difficult task for parents and guardians, who are looking for ways to make meals and snack times more healthy and convenient, so stocking a smoothie that is just for kids by a brand that people of all ages already know and love, is a simple way for retailers to help make their lives that much easier.’’
The move comes straight after Tropicana’s new creative platform ‘It’s THAT Juice’, which is set to run throughout 2023.
